The following services are a part of a complete medical system that originated in China and other regions of the world over 3000 years ago and that still continues to be used today.
Acupuncture: This is the principal method of treatment Michelle uses in clinic.
It involves the use of fine, sterile, disposable needles, inserted through the skin at particular points in the body. Acupuncture utilises a unique system of Acupuncture points: When these points are stimulated the network that is the channel system helps to regulate the body's energy, which prevents and treats illness.
Auricular (ear) Acupressure: This involves single use sterile metal beads, stuck to particular points on the ear with adhesive tape. It uses a unique system of points on the ears, which, when stimulated, have a therapeutic effect on the whole body.
Chinese Herbal medicine: These are herbs and nutritional supplements. These refined and natural substances are considered to have medicinal properties, based on the unique understanding that Chinese medicine has of the therapeutic properties of plants, mineral and animal substances. When we talk about prescribing herbs, we generally talk about formulas. Traditionally dried raw herbs are decocted to make a tea. Today there are more convenient ways formulas may be prescribed to you.

Cupping: This is a localised suction produced by heating small glass cups and placing them over the skin. This method is used to relieve muscle aches and pains.
Gua Sha: This is a type of dermal friction over the skin surface. It is used for muscle aches and pains and occasionally respiratory ailments.
Moxibustion: is a direct or indirect application of heat on acupuncture points using herbal substances. It's gentle warming method is used to warm areas of the body that have become cold and promote circulation.
Tui Na: This involves Acupressure and massage to local and general areas of the body.
TCM dietary and lifestyle advice: This is considered an important component of health maintenance in Traditional Chinese Medicine consultation. Lifestyles areas that may be discussed are diet, exercise and stress management.
